Winter Accessories You Need This January

I love the song Baby It’s Cold Outside. Quite truthfully, it’s probably my favorite Christmas song. But this cold is slowly killing me. Since we moved a year ago, we still have a lot of boxes in our garages, so while there should be room for my parents cars and mine, my poor Lucy (yes, we named my car) has been freezing in our driveway each night. Let me tell you, scraping off your car at 6:30 am for work is quite the wake up call. We’ve gotten more snow everyday since the 23rd. Let’s calm down now lake effect. […]

L.L. BEAN BOOTS – Review + OOTD

I finally bought a pair of L.L. Bean’s “Bean Boots.” I’ve seen them duped by other companies, but I bought the real deal during Cyber Monday and I am SO happy that I did. They are perfect for the Michigan winters, and for walking around a snowy campus. They are easily the most waterproof boots I’ve ever had, not to mention for winter boots they are insanely cute and easy to style. Outfit Details: Lauren Ralph Lauren Lace Up Shirt (similar) | Dry Goods Navy Vest (similar here and here) | Pearl Studs (similar) | Lucky Brand Jeans |┬áBean Boots […]

First Blog Giveaway – Alex and Ani Bracelet!!

3,000 hits may seem like a tiny number to any full time blogger, but to a college student who thought her posts were just going to be read by a couple friends and family members, it’s so cool to see the reach my little corner of the internet has had in under a year! I’ve been able to work with the sweetest people and some great brands, and I’ve been able to hear your personal struggles and stories. Now while I haven’t always been the most consistent at posting, I’m going to be trying to work really hard at keeping […]

National Philanthropy Day – St. Jude | Love Your Melon – My Experiences + How You Can Get Involved

So I’ll be honest, I had no idea that the 15th was National Philanthropy Day until about 2 minutes ago. I had already written and edited a long style post for Thanksgiving and was planning on uploading that today, but I’m postponing that now until tomorrow. Instead, I wanted to take some time to talk about the amazing philanthropies I’ve been able to be a part of and give you ideas on how you can get involved with them as well. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital My heart is filled with so much love for St. Jude and respect and […]

Greek Life Q&A – What Are Sororities Really Like, What If I’m Not A Legacy, + More

By spending my freshman year at a BIG10 school and going through recruitment, Greek life became a huge part of me. Quite frankly, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I met some of my closest friends through Greek life and I’m lucky that even though I’ve transferred schools we are all still close. They’re also incredibly supportive – I’m pretty sure they were some of the very first readers of Abundance of Abby! Anyways, I decided to write this to answer people’s questions regarding Greek life. I wanted to take my own personal experiences and help clear the […]

August Style: Summer Weekends

I’ve been trying to spend the past few weeks outside, soaking up as much of the August sun I can. Whether that’s been at the Coast Guard Festival, on the East side of the state with family, or just in my own backyard, I’ve been savoring each moment this summer. With just a couple weeks left leading up to my first semester of sophomore year, I’ve been one busy bee! (Which is one of the main reasons I haven’t been able to post as often – I’m working on it, I pinky promise!) Thank goodness I’ve ordered my agenda, because […]

Lake Day with Lake Effect Co.

This post is dedicated to my fellow lake babies. To the people who have heard their parents lecture them about the rip current and still went out to swim anyways. (Sorry Mom!!) To those who can paddle board, wake board, skim board, surf board, and do basically anything that ends in board. To the ones who know where to go that the tourists who come to visit don’t. To those who feel just as comfortable behind the wheel of the boat as they do the wheel of a car. To the ones who were fine with jumping into the water […]

What We Would Tell Our Younger Selves

“Despite what your feelings may be telling you, the pain you’re experiencing may be a chapter in your life, but it will not be all there is to your life. Don’t let your thoughts confuse a chapter with the whole book.” – Brittney Moses   I decided to write a different piece for Abundance of Abby. I had so many different people send in stories and it was amazing to read all of their own perspectives. At one point, I had to stop taking everyones and save them for another day and post!! I hope this blog post touches you […]

Greek Life Jewelry

Happy Thursday!! I apologize for not writing for a little bit there, I have been so busy and wasn’t feeling particularly inspired, so I wasn’t going to write half-hearted pieces just for the sake of producing content. After thinking about what I want to write in the coming weeks, I realized that a lot of high school seniors (now college freshman) will end up rushing and going through sorority recruitment, so I wanted to share my own perspective and tips in an upcoming mini “sorority series” if you will. I’m super excited to share my own experiences with everyone and […]

Brunchin’ and Beachin’

Hey everyone and Happy Thursday!! Like you know, my friend Audrey came to visit for the 4th of July. Sadly, she had to leave yesterday, but I made sure she had a really great send off for her last day here. I love showing friends and family around my new home and exploring the areas surrounding me with them. After staying up pretty late the night before, we started our morning off with a stop at the local coffee shop. Audrey actually collects coffee cup sleeves from all the places she travels, so I knew we had to stop at […]
