Grand Haven Lighthouse And South Pier In The Winter

What a day! *insert heart eye emoji* Tuesday’s are now my “content creation day,” as my schedule got switched around very last minute and now my class is later in the day. (This frees up my morning/mid afternoon.) So today, I spent that time adventuring around on frozen Lake Michigan and Grand Haven’s State Park beach. It’s an unusually “warm” day in Michigan, meaning that it’s almost 40° out!  We hiked for a while and made it to the pier which we explored more of. Winter Accessories You Need This January

I love the song Baby It’s Cold Outside. Quite truthfully, it’s probably my favorite Christmas song. But this cold is slowly killing me. Since we moved a year ago, we still have a lot of boxes in our garages, so while there should be room for my parents cars and mine, my poor Lucy (yes, we named my car) has been freezing in our driveway each night. Let me tell you, scraping off your car at 6:30 am for work is quite the wake up call. We’ve gotten more snow everyday since the 23rd. Let’s calm down now lake effect. […]

L.L. BEAN BOOTS – Review + OOTD

I finally bought a pair of L.L. Bean’s “Bean Boots.” I’ve seen them duped by other companies, but I bought the real deal during Cyber Monday and I am SO happy that I did. They are perfect for the Michigan winters, and for walking around a snowy campus. They are easily the most waterproof boots I’ve ever had, not to mention for winter boots they are insanely cute and easy to style. Outfit Details: Lauren Ralph Lauren Lace Up Shirt (similar) | Dry Goods Navy Vest (similar here and here) | Pearl Studs (similar) | Lucky Brand Jeans | Bean Boots […]

First Blog Giveaway – Alex and Ani Bracelet!!

3,000 hits may seem like a tiny number to any full time blogger, but to a college student who thought her posts were just going to be read by a couple friends and family members, it’s so cool to see the reach my little corner of the internet has had in under a year! I’ve been able to work with the sweetest people and some great brands, and I’ve been able to hear your personal struggles and stories. Now while I haven’t always been the most consistent at posting, I’m going to be trying to work really hard at keeping […]

August Style: Summer Weekends

I’ve been trying to spend the past few weeks outside, soaking up as much of the August sun I can. Whether that’s been at the Coast Guard Festival, on the East side of the state with family, or just in my own backyard, I’ve been savoring each moment this summer. With just a couple weeks left leading up to my first semester of sophomore year, I’ve been one busy bee! (Which is one of the main reasons I haven’t been able to post as often – I’m working on it, I pinky promise!) Thank goodness I’ve ordered my agenda, because […]

Lake Day with Lake Effect Co.

This post is dedicated to my fellow lake babies. To the people who have heard their parents lecture them about the rip current and still went out to swim anyways. (Sorry Mom!!) To those who can paddle board, wake board, skim board, surf board, and do basically anything that ends in board. To the ones who know where to go that the tourists who come to visit don’t. To those who feel just as comfortable behind the wheel of the boat as they do the wheel of a car. To the ones who were fine with jumping into the water […]

Greek Life Jewelry

Happy Thursday!! I apologize for not writing for a little bit there, I have been so busy and wasn’t feeling particularly inspired, so I wasn’t going to write half-hearted pieces just for the sake of producing content. After thinking about what I want to write in the coming weeks, I realized that a lot of high school seniors (now college freshman) will end up rushing and going through sorority recruitment, so I wanted to share my own perspective and tips in an upcoming mini “sorority series” if you will. I’m super excited to share my own experiences with everyone and […]

Brunchin’ and Beachin’

Hey everyone and Happy Thursday!! Like you know, my friend Audrey came to visit for the 4th of July. Sadly, she had to leave yesterday, but I made sure she had a really great send off for her last day here. I love showing friends and family around my new home and exploring the areas surrounding me with them. After staying up pretty late the night before, we started our morning off with a stop at the local coffee shop. Audrey actually collects coffee cup sleeves from all the places she travels, so I knew we had to stop at […]

National Sunglasses Day Inspo

Happy National Sunglasses Day🕶  Recently, I’ve been wearing a more fun pair of sunglasses from Francesca’s. They’re inexpensive and play on the cat eye style that’s grown in popularity. I’m pretty sure that I linked the correct color, but there are lighter and darker shades that accompany that specific style so I could be a little off. Some other cat eye sunglasses, that are higher quality can be found here and here from Express (both under $30!!) and here for under $60 from Talbot’s. The pair of cat eye ones I have are so much fun and the first day I wore […]

Fourth of July Outfit Ideas

I absolutely love the 4th of July. The watermelon stacked so perfectly on red, white, and blue plates. The smell of fireworks and grilling in the air. The sounds of everyone laughing and enjoying the day. It’s seriously the best. While I’m not entirely sure what we have planned for the most American holiday just yet, I’m hoping that my friend Audrey is coming into town to spend it with us. Audrey’s previously spent a 4th with my family and it’s always a lot of fun. She’s been there for night swimming, sparklers, and a lot of ice cream eating. […]
