The 3 Secret’s To Happiness – According To My Macro Professor

In my macroeconomics class last Wednesday, my professor cut our lecture short and told us that he was going to take the rest of the class period to tell us the three rules to happiness. Everyone was pretty happy because a) we didn’t have to keep taking notes and b) that’s a pretty interesting/loaded topic and I think most people wanted to genuinely hear his take on it. The Rules: Always Keep Working:  Whether it be on yourself, your hobbies, or your actual job, it’s important to keep moving and always keep working. He told us to obviously not overwork […]

🎉ONE FULL YEAR🎉

WOW. Just wow, you guys! One full year of Abundance of Abby. A full year of sharing my life with the internet. It’s just so crazy to me. I had made a couple of blogs before (middle school/high school), but I had never told anyone, because I was afraid I would get made fun of for it. Oh what I would tell that little 14 year old. Funny enough a couple of months ago I actually found one of my first blogs. I thought I had deleted it, but apparently not. Very funny, but oh so cringe worthy😂 Needless to say, […]

2018 Valentine’s Day Gifts For Her ALL UNDER $50!!

Happy Tuesday! Valentine’s Day is less than a week away, so if you’re still searching for a gift for your girlfriend or gal-pal I’m here to help. (Or honestly, you could just treat yourself!) Everything in this post is fairly budget friendly and is all under $50. (With many being considerably lower, so you still can spend a bit more on your valentine!) But first, if you’re looking to stick to classics like chocolates and flowers, consider switching it up a little and mixing in a different sweet treat like macarons. I absolutely adore Le Bon Macaron in Grand Rapids […]

Grand Haven Lighthouse And South Pier In The Winter

What a day! *insert heart eye emoji* Tuesday’s are now my “content creation day,” as my schedule got switched around very last minute and now my class is later in the day. (This frees up my morning/mid afternoon.) So today, I spent that time adventuring around on frozen Lake Michigan and Grand Haven’s State Park beach. It’s an unusually “warm” day in Michigan, meaning that it’s almost 40° out!  We hiked for a while and made it to the pier which we explored more of. Outfit Details: Knit Green Sweater (similar) | The North Face Coat | Navy Leggings (similar) | […]

Traveling Alone In Your 20’s – What Every Girl Should Do + Know

As many of you know, travel is at the top of my list for my 2018 goals. I’m so determined to get out, explore, and adventure more often. So today I decided to write about traveling in your 20’s and enlisted the help of my friend Abby. (Yes, we have the same name. We’ve been dealing with this since middle school.) She’s traveled all around the world and is about to be my road trip buddy this summer!  1. What are some overlooked essentials to bring when you travel outside of the country?  A water bottle for sure! And don’t […]

An Honest Talk About Eating Habits

Today’s blog post was not going to be about this. While it was going to be health related, after stopping at the grocery store with my mom and spontaneously buying a cookie from the delicious Monica’s Gourmet Cookies (the signature chocolate chip to be exact) I realized that my eating habits have changed. And that it’s actually in a good way. Because honestly, I’m not as in shape as I was last year. Last year, I had way more dance classes and went to the gym multiple times a week. I made more conscious choices about what I put into my body […]

National Philanthropy Day – St. Jude | Love Your Melon – My Experiences + How You Can Get Involved

So I’ll be honest, I had no idea that the 15th was National Philanthropy Day until about 2 minutes ago. I had already written and edited a long style post for Thanksgiving and was planning on uploading that today, but I’m postponing that now until tomorrow. Instead, I wanted to take some time to talk about the amazing philanthropies I’ve been able to be a part of and give you ideas on how you can get involved with them as well. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital My heart is filled with so much love for St. Jude and respect and […]

What We Would Tell Our Younger Selves

“Despite what your feelings may be telling you, the pain you’re experiencing may be a chapter in your life, but it will not be all there is to your life. Don’t let your thoughts confuse a chapter with the whole book.” – Brittney Moses   I decided to write a different piece for Abundance of Abby. I had so many different people send in stories and it was amazing to read all of their own perspectives. At one point, I had to stop taking everyones and save them for another day and post!! I hope this blog post touches you […]

Luggage I Love

I am in love with my luggage. There I said it. After I graduated high school, my mom and I both decided that it was time for me to step up my suitcase game. So long beloved hot pink suitcase that’s traveled everywhere from small sleepovers to Disney World to the Outerbanks of North Carolina and almost everywhere in between. After countless stores and online shopping I finally came across the luggage I had been searching for and essentially comparing every other piece to that we came across. I found the suitcases that seemed to scream, “Abby you’re an adult […]

Apartment and Dorm Room Spring Style: Sucker for Succulents

With Spring’s recent arrival, I’ve been itching to get outside, but with the midwest’s gloomy March weather that’s been a little difficult. Not only that, but the spring cleaning (and reorganizing) bug has bit me, and I’ve been scouring Pinterest and Instagram for ideas on how to spruce up my room, reorganize, and make it more aesthetically pleasing (because let’s be real – aesthetics have become everything). One thing that has stood out as another recent home style trend is minimalistic indoor decor paired particularly with succulents or the house plant of your choosing. I’m sure many of you have seen […]
