This summer I went through a major closet detox and while organizing my jewelry collection, I realized I didn’t have a nice watch. A good watch is a closet staple and I was shocked that I didn’t have one. My justification for purchasing another accessory? New job. I was just starting a more professional part time job at school and figured this would be a piece that would be functional and cute. Also, I was hoping my dad would chill with the “time for you to get a watch” bit.
I debated between an Apple Watch or a something more traditional. I wanted something that looked stylish, but also wouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg. Eventually, I settled on the classic timepiece option over the Apple Watch and decided on the Daniel Wellington Petite Melrose watch.
As I write this I realize I don’t know exactly which size watch I have. Although the name says “petite” it comes in two different sizes – a 28mm and a 32mm. (The boutique I purchased mine from only had one available in this particular set I wanted.) Comparing mine to pictures on DW’s website, I feel like it’s a safe bet to say it’s the 32mm.
What really drew me to the Daniel Wellington is that they offer different interchangeable straps. The black dial pops against the rose gold strap that I currently have, but if I wanted to I could switch it out for a brown leather strap for a more casual look. I styled my watch in my white tee shirt post a while back if you want to see it paired with a casual outfit.
I wear it multiple times a week and I’m pleasantly surprised at how well it matches so many different outfits. It’s minimalistic, but can still elevate an outfit. If you’re in the market for a new watch, I would absolutely recommend this one!
