Brunchin’ and Beachin’

Hey everyone and Happy Thursday!!

Like you know, my friend Audrey came to visit for the 4th of July. Sadly, she had to leave yesterday, but I made sure she had a really great send off for her last day here. I love showing friends and family around my new home and exploring the areas surrounding me with them. After staying up pretty late the night before, we started our morning off with a stop at the local coffee shop. Audrey actually collects coffee cup sleeves from all the places she travels, so I knew we had to stop at “Jumpin’ Java!” I’m not a big coffee drinker, so I went to my go to smoothie – fruit with a tea base. I love that it doesn’t contain any dairy (I find that I break out more when I consume more dairy than I really need to!) and that there are so many options for fruit flavors. They use fresh fruit and it tastes so refreshing. The flavor I chose was a strawberry-mango and it was delicious!! After ordering our drinks, we proceeded to walk around our downtown until we got to a very popular bakery. I told Audrey we had to go in so we could split one thing. Audrey, being the trusting person she is, obliged and followed me on in. As we were waiting in line, she asked me what we were getting and I replied with, “A pretzel.” “A pretzel??” Yep. It was like 9 in the morning and I was dragging her around town to buy a soft pretzel for a pre-brunch snack. But seriously, these pretzels are so yummy and after we ordered and paid, we sat outside and enjoyed it immensely. I then dragged her further along the downtown to take her to a restaurant for brunch. She ordered (more) coffee, fruit, English muffins, and sausage, while I ordered some water, hash browns, and eggs benedict. My eggs benedict included bacon, avocado, and spinach and it was so good!

Wearing: White Tassle Top from Francesca’s (similar here from TJ Maxx (for under $20!!) and here from Gilt), J.Crew Factory Shorts, Francesca’s Sunglasses (similar here and here from Express and here from TOMS), Light Pink G.H. Bass Boat Shoes (similar here and here from Sperry), NARS Rikugien Lipstick Pencil, and Laura Geller Tahitian Glow Baked Body Frosting.

After we had our brunch and walked around the boardwalk, we headed back to my house and then decided to go back to the beach. My youngest brother, Evan, agreed to go, even though he knew he would be our designated photographer for the day. We spent the rest of the time she was here eating snacks on the beach, swimming, tanning, and just having an overall great time.

Wearing: Old Victoria’s Secret Black Swim Top (almost identical similar top here from Vince Camuto) and Old Black and White Striped Bottoms (no idea where they were from, but here is a similar pair from Nordstrom.)

We packed a ton of stuff into one morning and afternoon, but I’m so lucky to have a friend like her who is willing to let me drag her around my new hometown. I had so much fun and cannot wait to see what else this summer holds!!
